Brilliant, to say the least – This movie is the perfect solution to whisk away your weekend blues with spectacular star cast and gripping story line.
Ted Crawford (Played by Anthony Hopkins) ,an intelligent structural engineer is flabbergasted when he finds out his wife is cheating on him. He confronts her and shoots her, trapping her lover in his well played game. He confesses to killing her and requests the judge to represent himself against the prosecutor Willy Beachum ( Played by Ryan Gosling).
As per Willy, it is an open and shut case because of the signed confession by Ted. Willy Beachum loves to win and has a conviction rate of 97% – he readily takes up the case to add another feather to his winning streak. He does not realize the web built by Crawford and unknowingly falls into it. Before the young DA knows it, he had no solid evidence to prove Ted guilty and soon realizes he is fighting a losing battle against the witty Ted Crawford.
An interesting course of events follows and the movie is nail biting to the finish. Anthony Hopkins brings humour and brilliance to the movie plot so you tend to adore him, even though he is a bad guy. Ryan Gosling compliments his role as a worthy opponent.
The plot is brilliant and I doubt if I ever saw a movie this well made. A must watch for all. I would give it a score of 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.
